Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in memory of Gabrielle Rich Aouad, a beautiful and vibrant young woman who passed away from leukemia in 1996. Gabrielle’s final wish was to create a leukemia foundation that would help spare others the suffering she endured. The work of Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research continues in her honor and memory, funding early-career scientists with the most innovative ideas to find cures for blood cancers. Since 1996, the Foundation has awarded nearly $35M in grants to over 250 scientists, with 92 cents of every dollar going directly to our mission.
